Replacement of chains
Chain DiameterHigh-tensile chains have to be checked accordingly to their operating conditions at regular intervals, however, according to statutory regulations:
a) Chains, whose average link diameter >>dm<< has been reduced - due to wear - at any contact point by more than 10% of the normal size must be removed from operation.
b) When elongated by more than 5% due to plastic deformation, the chain must be replaced.
